From 88 to 108 consists in using the balloon’s acoustic properties to transform it into a speaker. The soundpiece live broadcasts a random roaming in the radiowave spectrum from one edge to the other, creating a unique and endless composition. The work also questions Duchamp’s inframince and the way we can use and momentarily take back radiowave frequencies.
On the ground, a pile of flyers invited the public to a performance that happened a few weeks after the opening. This performance is a direct extension of the sculpture as I remplaced the radio device, using guitar pedal effects to built layers of sound as I was tuning different radio stations. I opened the experience inviting Alice Huet, a Berlin based drummer, to perform and play drums over the live radio composition. The performance raised up as a poetical composition made out of fragments of music, words and noises.
